Probably the worst issue I have at the moment is directing Opus executables to the correct screen. I am moving our presenters in our classrooms to multiple monitors with our powerpoint presentations. These include Opus executables as simulations of various things, such as forklifts, pipe handlers, and control software. Of course, the primary monitor is on the lectern as this is how powerpoint insists things be. The problem is that Opus executables insist on opening on the primary monitor. I've tried a couple of multi-monitor display controller packages that claim to be able to remember app positions, but Opus refuses to respond. The only "workaround" I've found so far is to publish the exe to open in a full screen window, which has the multi-mon direction gadgets in it, then direct it to the other screen. Clunky.

Beyond that, we are in the process of developing a simulation of our oil drilling rig control software. The real thing uses three monitors. In order to build a fully functional sim we will need at least that many and be able to direct things to them consistently. When complete, this will be the most cost effective device of its type yet built, as the cheapest I am aware of cost around US500,000.00. We are projecting costs on this one at NMT 100,000.00. It will definitely get Opus noticed...

Opus 6 allows the publication and/or chapter windows to open on any given monitor.

Dave --

In OPUS v6 Pub Properties, you can select which monitor in which the presentation will open. From the Chapter Properties -> Window tab you can select in which monitor a Chapter will display.

One of my favourite situations to be in :-)

Opus v6 looks interesting -- I guess I'll upgrade up as well.
