Yes, as the titles suggests, I'd like to be able to export an object as an image file. The case is similar to printing, but the output could be an image file.

One may ask formally 'Why do you need this?'

A child, and upon completing a drag an drop game of arranging some objects as a building or a wall can then put the result as a wallpaper or save the work as an image file.

I know that nothing is as easy as ordering Aladdin's Genie , but I hope I could help develop this piece of software.

Maybe this is not what you are wanting to achieve, but for me, this works OK.

Create an object such as a text object or a frame.

When you have finished apply tou content, right-click and select "Render" from the drop down menue. This converts the object to a graphic file.

Mine are created in png format because that is what I use wherever possible, but you shoudl be able to use your preferred graphic format.

Finally, choose "Consolidate" from the "Publication" menu. This will save your newly created graphics in the Resources directory of your publication.

Ray!
Thanks for your advice, but in fact I want to export an image during runtime i.e. after I publish my work, and this image is to be on the user's machine, not in my editor.

While surfing the forum, I found a great tool that can do the job. I'll stick to it now, since it can make it out.

It is OK for me now.

Cheers

Hi,

Thank you for your enquiry.

There is also a dedicated 'Export Selected' option in the File menu which allows you to export one or more selected object to an image format of your choice.

This is obviously only available within the editor and cannot be invoked at runtime, but I thought I would let you know about this just in case.

Kind regards,
