I don't know whether this has been mentioned before, but this very useful facility would be better served being removed from the Quickbuild menu, and given a slot of its own, perhaps beneath "Rename" in the main right-click menu for each object

I use this so frequently, it's a pain having to delve into 2 menu layers to find it!

Can I suggest that if you use it frequently just use Tools -> Customise and add it to a toolbar - that's what I have done.

The context menus are already large - we really don't want to add more items to them unless absolutely necessary.

Hadn't thought of that, Duncan - I'll do that now!

OPUS has a feature within it's QuickBuild function whereby you can automatically name an Object based on it's content. A Text Object will have the first few characters of whatever text it contains, an Image Object will have the name of the graphic/photo it contains, etc. This is something I use ever time I create a new Object, so I have added it (Tools -> Customize -> Commands -> QuickBuild) to my center vertical tool bar. It really helps to know what an Object contains, rather than just "Text 123".

If you haven't customized your version of OPUS, it's quite simple. Just go to Tools -> Customize, then select Commands. You can scroll through all the OPUS Commands in the Categories window on the left, then click on the icons on the right to read what they do. Just "drag and drop" any selected icon to any toolbar. While in Customize mode, you can drag OFF any toolbar icons you don't use to give yourself more room. Select an icon and drag it to the work area. It will no longer appear on that toolbar.

Another option in this same QuickBuild area is called "Rename selected objects to a base name with a counter." Also, take a look at "Insert specific characters using a character map dialog" which works with Text Objects. You can preview, select, and directly add any special characters from the Windows Character Map feature.

Thanks, Fred. I've taken your advice (and Duncans's) and customised.
