Hi
The mobile market, SmartPhones and PDA's, is growing. The Flash Lite player is being installed as OEM in a number of new phones and some devices (Flash Lite 2.1 can be used on phones and PDA's). So Flash content for mobile deployment is a growing area as well.
The recently released test version, FlashLite 2.1 player for mobile, which works with a touch screen, but, more importantly, is designed for key-based phone navigation, supports an additional set of commands: fscommand2, related to phones.
One only has to think of the challenge of creating content for a phone screen where all navigation is by "up," "down," "left, "right" and "select" keypad plus input panel (on screen keyboard).
I suspect that the current Flex tool in Opus Pro XE 5.5 may use an earlier version of Action Script than 2.0 and could probably benefit from being updated to AS 2.0 in the next version. Action Script 2 or 1, Java Script and Opus Script are all to varying degrees based on ECMA-262. So basic compatibility is already available and, with additional effort, can be enhanced.
Anything by way of updating Flex's ability to generate Flash Lite compatible commands, like accepting the fscommand2 ones, would be a bonus, and further open the mobile Flash market for Opus authoring.
I remain hopeful that these items will be considered as the next Opus version is developed.
One final note: Opus/Flex already has an extraordinary capability to support Flash authoring for mobile. This wish list item, if added, would make an already fantastic program even better!
Kind Regards,
