An issue that has popped up lately for me. When creating ODBC data sources in Windows 7 (not sure about Vista) it seems to give the DSN filename the entire file path name too.

So if your DSN name is Bob_DB, in Windows XP it would have appeared in Opus as:
FILEDSN=Bob_DB.dsn

In Windows 7 this will now become a longer name depending on location, example:
FILEDSN=C:\Users\Bob\Documents\Bob_DB.dsn

The Opus Database tab is not designed to show full Data Sources file names, this can make it difficult if you have many data sources for one publication. If the fields grew as the dialog was stretched it would be great.

Also on this dialog can you place an Add button for Data Sources, so if I have one already created I can just select it and add to the publication. Currently I am creating actions for the sake of adding a data source and then deleting once source is selected.

Thanks.

In a follow up to this. I work across two computers sometimes and I notice that publications with DB that Opus forgets the DB, even though I have an ODBC created on both systems.

Is there anyway that Opus can remember the DB or carry the ODBC file with it.

On a side note did anyone notice that Windows 7 Data Source app for ODBC is very same as it was in Windows 3.1, looks like it was completely over looked in both Vista and 7.

Imc,

Good ISSUE for the Wishlist. Hell, I wrestled with ODBC just on a single platform. It IS an area with a learning curve attached. OpusPro could really benefit from getting that connection bridged smoothly.

Suggest you start a separate thread to solve current issues. Then can develop ideas fully.
