Hello everyone

This chapter does not discuss any new scripting commands. What this chapter does discuss is how to use the scripting commands we learned to created a timed multiple choice test.

If a scripting guru could have a look at this chapter and work out a way to either use a clock or ticker script command to count down a time limit to answer a question, then that would be terrific.

The problem is that the countdown clock must stop once the test candidate has answered a question.

I was unable to work out how to script a clock or ticker that could be stopped by a left mouse click action.

The timer mechanism used in this publication relies on a show() and hide() script in conjunction with an If and Else script. Using the If and Else script function solved the stop clock problem.

However, there has to be an easier way to add a timer faciility to tests and test questions and if anyone has ideas, please lets hear them! :D

Cheers

Graham

Hi Graham,

I haven't had the chance to look at your pub yet, but see if the attached IMP helps. It has a 15 second timer in scripted and non-scripted versions.

(Edit: updated IMP file, as script on Page 2 ticker was incorrect)

Thanks for your help Steve. Your publication is absolutely brilliant as usual!!!!!!!! The revolving arrow is fantastic.

Just looking at page 2 of your example, your work is absolutely fantastic.

Anyone who is interested in Chapter 6 should download your example Steve. I'll now do an update on chapter 6 and include the while loop.

Thank you very much

Cheers

Graham
