Hello everyone

Following the publication of Chapter 6 a week or so ago, Steve H emailed to me an excellent publication featuring different ways to construct a clock. It is attached here entitled 'countdown 4.zip'.

The second page in particular shows how a timer can be constructed using both scripting and non-scripting.

Steve H then contracted the dreaded flu lurgy but while Steve H was on his sickbed recovering he emailed me again after realising that my "ticker
trigger" was not needed to construct a countdown timer clock, and used the while loop script instead. I've converted his emailed code into a simple
timer and have attached this as 'Easy Timer.zip'

If you follow the logic in the orginal Chapter 6 you should be easily able to implement the Easy Timer into the multiple choice quiz that was attached to Chapter 6 if you so desire.

The scripting versions of the timer use the 'while' command. This command was not covered in chapters 1 to 5 so for those of you who are following the learning scripting chapter series, the while command adds a new command to your scripting knowledge.

Thank you Steve H for your knowledge and companionship!

Cheers

Graham

A quick question, is the CreateClock( Name, Variable, Format ) function better on system performance than the while loop method or will they both use the same level of CPU.

Have an interactive publication and want to have the Timer using as little CPU as possible as it will slow down the publication on a low spec computer.
