Please find below a link to download a zip folder containing the sample publication 'zoom.imp'. This demonstrates one way in which to create a draggable 'magnify' effect on an image.

To create this effect, use the following procedure:

1) Create a blank new publication
2) Right-click on the page and select Properties
3) Select the Image tab
4) Click the Browse button and select the image you would like to display on the page
5) Depending on the aspect ratio of the chosen image, you may need to disable the 'Keep Aspect' option to ensure the image fills the page
6) Click Apply and OK to confirm the changes
7) Now select the Image tool and draw an image frame on the page (the size and position are not important at this stage)
8) In the Properties of the image, click Browse and select the same image you used for the page
9) Again, ensure that the 'Keep Aspect' option is disabled to allow the image to fill the image frame
10) Click Apply to apply the changes, but do not click OK
11) Select the General tab and place a tick in the 'Fix object to page' checkbox
12) Ensure that the 'Stop mouse clicks passing through' option is NOT checked
13) Click Apply and OK to confirm the changes and return to the editor
14) Select the Frame tool and draw a frame measuring 100 x 100 pixels (the dimensions of the frame are displayed in the bottom-left of the screen as you are creating the object)
15) In the properties for the frame, select the Border tab
16) Select the Ellipse style border, an Absolute Width of 4 pixels and black as the Primary Colour
17) Click Apply to apply the changes, but do not click OK
18) Select the Drag and Drop tab
19) Place a tick in the 'This object can be dragged' checkbox and remove the tick from the 'Return to original position if not dropped' checkbox
20) Click Apply and OK to confirm the changes and return to the editor
21) In the Organiser pane, position the cursor over the Image object (this will probably be named 'Image 1')
22) Hold down the RIGHT mouse button and drag the Image 1 object on top of the Frame 1 object
23) Release the right mouse button and a small menu should appear. Left click on the option to 'Insert Into'
24) The image should now appear shrunken within the frame
25) In the Organiser pane, right-click on the Image object and select Properties
26) Select the General tab
27) Set the Width and Height of the image to the same dimensions as the page (this is 800 x 600, by default)
28) Click Apply and OK to confirm the changes
29) With the image object selected, click Arrange > Centre Objects > Both
30) Now click on the Frame object in the Organiser pane to select it
31) With the frame object selected, click Arrange > Centre Objects > Both
32) Now right-click on the frame object and select Properties
33) Select the Effects tab
34) Place a tick in the Stretch checkbox
35) Type 150 into the Horizontally field
36) Type 150 into the Vertically field
37) Click Apply and OK to confirm the changes and return to the editor
38) Now preview the publication and try dragging the frame around the page. The zoom effect should now be apparent.

Hi Robin,

That could be a solution - thanks for your time - I'll let you know how I get on with it - as I said could be a good solution.

Regards
Anthony
