In OPUS v6, I've created a three Page tutorial which shows you how to convert the System Variables in OPUS into the US date format of:

Month Day, Year e.g. March 21, 2010.

Thanks for your tutorial Fred

A very fine piece of scripting there and a darned useful one as well.

Of course, everything would be much easier for the rest of the world if all Americans reverted to the traditional and sensible way of recording dates (Day, Month, Year) :P :P

You would also save wear and tear on the comma key!

Cheers and thanks again

Graham

Should we Americans learn how to drive on the wrong side of the road too? lol.

My goodness, I thought that post was forgotten! :D

No - your side of the road is apparently safer according to the experts Denn.

If you ever go to China, you'll discover that any side of the road will do.

Changing the date system has a lot of economic merit.

Can't wait until we get decimal time as reported 01 April 2012

100 second minutes, 100 minute hours, 10 hours per day, 10 days per week, 100 days per month and 10 month years. That would make us all a lot younger.

Cheers

Graham

I saw the subject and was interested by the title...

If you ever go to China, you'll discover that any side of the road will do.
Actually I've seen some dash cams from china and it's horrifying. Not even the sidewalks are safe...

Changing the date system has a lot of economic merit.

Up until the idiot president we have in office now came along, we led the world in ecomomics, and we did it with our system. Now if we can just get rid of this socialist idiot president, we can get back to leading the world in ecomomics. If we don't, then we will suffer from having this idiot fool in office.

I hope you didn't take offence to what I said about driving on the wrong side of the road. Mackavi explained to me one time why the British used the left side rather than the right. He said back when people used swords, and most people were right handed like today, when meeting someone on the road they wanted their drawn sword between them and the on coming person. I thought that to be very funny...

No offence Denn whatsoever!

I thought at the time someone would bite back about my cheeky post but they never did.

When I lived and worked in China for a couple of years a little while ago now, I learned to ride my push bike kamikaze style. Obeying the rules that no-one obeyed made no sense. Funnily enough, if they slowed down a bit the no obeying rules system would probably be a much safer system.

Speaking of the English system, thanks to Mack, my jousting stick / sword has been replaced by a 606 page PHP and MySql book - bigger than "War and Peace" or "Gone with the Wind". Given it's size, if hurled in the direction of an enemy, it would do much more damage than a sword or jousting stick ever would.

Good exercise carrying it around though. :D

Cheers

Graham

I'm not really sure that's what Mr Bulwer-Lytton had in mind. LOL!
