We've noticed the On Access scan of Microsoft's Security Essentials slows the Flex (Flash) publish to a crawl. Note this doesn't affect the normal publish.

It will eventually publish as normal, and there's no suggestion from Security Essentials that there's any kind of malware or virus involved.

If this is affecting you, you can set Security Essentials to ignore Opus. In the Security Essentials control application, under settings choose "Excluded Processes", press add and browser to opus.exe in "c:\Program Files\Opus Pro 7". You then need to restart your computer.
