I want to create a Chinese version of one of my publications but have got totally stuck trying to incorporate Chinese text. In MS Word I'm using a font with chinese character sets and the text is all there. When I try and copy/paste that text into my Opus Creator publication however all I get is a series of odd symbols from a Western character set (even though the font employed in Creator is the same one I'm using in Word).

What's going wrong? Does Creator simply not support non-Western character sets or is there something else I should be doing? Any help much appreciated!

Niall.

Thanks, appreciated. That throws up a half dozen or so topics that shed light on why I might have a problem but I'm afraid I still haven't solved it. Have emailed technical support direct so I'll see where that gets me.

see viewtopic.php?t=2939&highlight=pinyin which might give you some information.

Opus does not seem to support some text fonts or special characters, but if you open a doc view, it will display them correctly, but that's not really any good for you.

If it was a simple publication, you might be able to use graphical representations, but not a nice solution.

Chinese is difficult with Opus....just my 'opinyin'

Thanks, in the absence of any other solution that's probably the way I'll have to go.
