After downloading the service release for Creator 6 and trying to install it I get a message "sorry could not find a valid copy etc"
Also have been getting "runtime Errors" and "Access violations"
Also publications lock up on simple videos and slide shows.

Pad,

You do not say what OS you are using, or other system info.

I'll assume you are using some variation of Windows Vista. I have solved "some" install or uninstall problems as follows. Uninstall a program by logging in as an Administrator, then via Control Panel >>> Programs/Features, finding the application and choosing 'Uninstall'. Then Shutdown the system and boot up again. Try installing the program or update.

As always, caution required... make backups of system, and specifically of your User data (working files). Sometimes extra Restore points are a good idea.

One particular 'hint'... if you by chance get an error message similar to "can't find Install LOG", you can manually find it and copy it to the Directory where Windows wants to find it. Then try the install or uninstall again.

Welcome to the forum.
Hope you solve the issue.

If you cannot resolve via forum suggestions, send a help ticket to DW support (ideally from inside Creator app).

Larry

G'day Larry
Thanks for your help.
I have now installed the upgrade and have finished the project.
I have had a few problems which I fixed by simplifying things.
Regards
Paul
