Post subject: | Key Remapping |
I have written a number of extensive publications that advance on left mouse click. My operator wants to use a wireless presenter which sends Pg Dn and Pg Up, is there a easy way to remap the keys within Opus. Obviously I could rewrite all my shows but is there a quicker way?? Thanks |

Spellfast -- IF you used a Master Page, then you'd only have to make a single change to advance to the next OPUS Page. Otherwise, you'll have to program each Page. OPUS does not remap keyboards. Are you familar with a "Multi-Trigger"? Let's say you have a Button Object with a "Left Mouse Click". Highlight the "Left Mouse Click." Before you add an Action, go to the Triggers tab at the top of the right window under Actions. Click Advanced, then double click Key Press. Put your cursor within the "Specific Key=" box, and using your keyboard, press the Page Down key. You'll see "Num 3" appear in the box. Now press the "Apply" button in the lower right corner of the window. Notice OPUS has changed your simple "Left Mouse Click" to the words "Multi-Trigger" with both "Left Mouse Click" and "Key Press Page Down" under it. Highlight either "Multi-Trigger" or one of the triggers under it, then use the Actions tab to select "Go to Page" where you should select "<Forward>." You can add as many Triggers under your Multi-Trigger as needed. Highlight "Multi-Trigger" again. Use the Trigger tab and under Advanced -> Key Press, again put your cursor into the box and press the Page Up key. Press Apply, and you'll notice you now have Left Mouse, Key Press Page Down, and Key Press Page Up under your Multi-Trigger. All of those Triggers will cause the same Action --> Go To Page <Forward>. You can Copy and Paste the Multi-Trigger into every situation within your Publication where you previously only used a Left Mouse Click. Hope that helps! Spellfast, by the way, my nickname used to be "Spellpoorly" until computers came out with the spell checker feature (LOL). |
