I have two annoying issues at present, when editing not when running:
i) Many of my text objects have the message "Double click to edit this text" in the centre. I can't seem to get rid of this and it covers over the actual text beneath, so that typos etc. can easily get overlooked.
ii) When using multiframes, this same message, and the outline of the relevant text object appears not only on the frame itself, but also on all other frames within the multiframe, whether above or below the offending frame. It thus appears on top of other text, pictures etc, anything that the other frames contain, and is very distracting. It's as if the offending frame is sitting on top of all the other frames. However, any actual text in the frames does not appear, just the annoying message and the outline of the text object itself.
I wonder if anyone can shed any light on this.

Go into OPUS and at the top menu line you'll see "Tools." When the drop-down window opens, left click on Options. In the LEFT window, under VIEW, click on "General." Notice on the right side at the bottom you'll see "Empty Object Label Mode." Use the drop-down and select "Classic (Object Name). For some reason, DW thinks their "Double-click" should be the Default. I recommend all OPUS users make this change. When you first create an Object, it's name will now appear in the upper left corner. As soon as you type text into a Text Object, ONLY the text will appear. I always have the Status Bar (View -> Status Bar) visible, so any Object I merely rollover, its name then appears in the Status Bar (lower left bottom of the screen).

Unfortunately you don't give full system information. It also depends what other applications you have open at the time. Firefox for example can be a memory hog (actually, more depending on the sites visited).

Basically, Creator / Opus should not be a problem.

Windows Vista and beyond has a few very good tools for observing what is happening with your system running states. Use 'Task manager' and 'Performance manager' to see which applications are hogging resources.

If, over in Opus/Creator, you have named objects and/or variables with the same name... that could cause 'hangs' or inordinate amount of resources while the program tries to make sense of the pub in development.

Try launching some of the Sample Publications (assuming Creator app has some you can view). If the samples run fine and your own creation does not... that should give you some idea where to start looking.

Now onto MultiFrames.
There is a bit of a trick in working with these. IMO.
Use the Organizer on the left to select specific Frames within the MultiFrame. That should make it more evident and visible as to which Frame in MF is currently in focus to edit. It also helps to give either the MultiFrame or the sub- Frames a background color. Helps to identify what you are working on. Lastly, in the Help files, look up 'conceal' in editor. That and related topics will help you sort out which objects you are operating on.

I have now got rid of the "Double click ...." labels, a simple process when one knows how, as it so often is.

I still see the outlines of the frames in the multiframes as previously mentioned, but as they are just dotted lines and as I know what they are, they are easy to simply ignore. However, by way of clarification, the problem seems to arise when I have a multiframe within a multiframe. For example, I have a stack of 6 frames in a multiframe. Then the last (bottom) of these frames itself contains a multiframe, and it is the outline of text objects in the top frame of this "inner" multiframe that can be seen in each frame of the "outer" multiframe. Not really a problem now that the "Double click ...." message is gone, but rather strange.

I have only recently upgraded to Creator after several years of working occasionally on small projects with Illuminatus Pro. That was beginning to give problems and, as I now have a much larger project to work on, I finally upgraded. Apart from the minor glitches mentioned, Creator has worked perfectly and has to be one of the best value applications around.
