I'm currently building a new Windows 7 - 64 bit OS from Scratch. I'm very curious to know if either Opus Creator 9 is a truly 64 bit software - or is it just compatible with Win 7 64 bit even though it may still be 32 bit. Would love to hear from anyone Using Creator V9.x on a Win 7 64 Bit OS. Thanks in advance. Rickster |

Opus / Creator is not 64 bit software. I've been using Opus under W7x64 since W7 was released and had very little problem. It's more of a path issue when receiving files from others running a x32 OS. Mack |

Thanks Mack - but I'm not sure what you mean by: "It's more of a path issue when receiving files from others running a x32 OS". Could you please explain what you mean by that. And perhaps other than that issue - what other issues did you run into if I may ask. Soryy to take up too much of your time. Appreciated very much. Rick |

Just that issue as far as I can recall. Basically, that issue stems from the fact that Opus's own resources are stored in the Opus folder which would normally be located in Program Files but because on an x64 system - the folder is Program Files (x86). Therefore, when people send me files from a computer where Opus was installed under a 32bit Opus, some of the resources are linked to the wrong internal path - I think Opus' bullets might be one of those. It doesn't happen that often and most of my clients seem to run Opus from x64 machines or are using custom graphics with their own paths. It's just a niggle and I can heartily recommend running Opus from an x64 machine including anything you publish as it works really well and you get all the benefits of x64 for your system. Hope that helps. Mack |
