Many thanks to the people who have helped shaped the possibility of Interaktiv creating eLearning material for Opus Scripting. A lot has been discussed and considered over the last few months and we are well aware that there are various individuals and businesses / establishments who have a serious interest in developing their understanding of Opus - especially the scripting aspect.
From our discussions, the following has been recognised:
A simple interface is preferred.
The LMS system is not necessary from a customer perspective
The LMS system (and Captivate) is overly time consuming from our perspective.
Short & succinct modules covering one main concept - such as 'for loops' is suggested for initial modules.
Applicable modules that demonstrating creating simple events is preferred over abstract scripts.
Reusable modules, including developing these over several lessons was of high interest - such as the List Box & VCR that we recently posted.
Ability for the customer to feedback and help shape which lesson objective are prioritised and included.
Modules that make use of this feedback to provide 'real world' solutions that supported customer needs would be extremely helpful - such as scripting to build better quiz systems.
Based on what's been discussed so far, we are currently looking at an offline system - that automatically updates modules weekly, at cost of between £5-10 (GBP) per month per licensed machine (not user).
However, we would like to open this discussion up to anybody with a serious interest and hear your thoughts & ideas. If you are interested in individual eLearning for Opus or feel that your business would benefit from an improved understanding of Opus then please send your comments to
general(at)interaktiv.co.uk
Please try to provide us with as much useful information as possible - such as the number of employees that might benefit from training; the current level of Opus understanding; examples of how you use / would like to use Opus; any specific of eLearning aspects (certification, BT) that would be helpful to your business / organisation.
Many thanks,
Mack
