So Windows 7 looks like it will be with us sooner than later, some predict this time next year. Which would be excellent as Windows Vista sucks.

Interested to know if DW are working with Windows 7 to ensure that Opus 7 will play nice and take advantage of some of the cool advances in Windows 7.

I found this group of videos of Windows 7 and it looks really cool, also like the Direct2D demos, very quick.

Currently downloading the official Windows 7 beta from Microsoft, 2.44GB. Has anyone tested Opus publications with Windows 7 or the Opus editor?

I will get it installed this week on my Vista test machine and report back. DW you guys playing with the beta yet? Any issues?

Opus 6.4 installs mostly ok on Windows 7, except for the "missing ocx" error that some of you experienced on Vista.
My pubs appear to run ok as well, but I'll have to check them out a bit more thoroughly yet.
Keep in mind Windows 7 is a beta version and things can go wrong :)

Currently trying it out with a few publications, currently having cursor disappearing problem. This only happens with my system with multi-monitors. ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro with latest Windows 7 drivers. Once I revert back to one display the cursor re-appears.

Overall Windows 7 is much, much, much better than Vista. I have to say it's a vast improvement over Vista. DW are you testing on this, it would be great if we had all compatibility issues nailed before Windows 7 appears in the stores in the summer.

Looking forward to Opus 7, expecting big things.

I am hopeful about Windows 7, it's still Vista but there are improvements.
I have the same video card as you and two monitors; the cursor disappears for me just as it did on Vista, unless I have directX switched off in my pubs.
I have to turn off directX in my pubs to keep transparency, something I would rather not do.

Anyone running Opus in Windows 7 RC full time yet? Considering updating my laptop to the RC from Vista.

RC1 runs ok, but I would suggest you run both Vista and Windows 7 RC1 in a dual boot setup.

cheers

Opus 6.4, as well as earlier versions to 5.5 seems to work well on Windows 7, with the exception of the pre-views of the publication, where the aero interface is disabled. We will see the launch of the Opus 7, the problem is solved!
