Hi,

I've read postings on the forum mentioning a few video converters that can convert a SWF to an MP4 (MPEG 4) to extend deployment to portable IOS devices (iPhone, iPad) via web browser (Safari) that can play QT.

Not sure which would be the best at a reasonable price. Not sure which one would not overwrite already installed codecs.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Kind Regards,

Hi,

Thanks for this suggestion. Super has been mentioned, as have some cautions about overwriting installed codecs. But worth a try.

Kind Regards,

I've also used AnvSoft Flash to Video Converter as well. Normally I try to use free or cheap things first.

Hi,

Again, thanks for your suggestion. I tried a trial version of AnvSoft Flash to Video Converter, but it kept crashing when I tried to convert a sample SWF file.

Super also installed extra unwanted items, so I removed it as well. Plus it lit up my Norton.

Still searching.

Kind Regards,

I guess I'm 2 for 2 then 8)

Both work fine on my machine, but as they say, your mileage may vary and obviously it does.

Hi,

Another option:

The Moyea SWF to Video converter (http://www.moyeamedia.com/swf-to-avi/) seems to work well. :)

Kind Regards,

Have commercial tools specific for this job.

BTW, all these tools will only work on SWF video and not SWF animations.

Thanks, Mack.

After researching, testing many converters, I decided on Moyea SWF to Video Converter Pro (http://www.moyeamedia.com/swf-to-video-pro/): full featured, well designed, easy to use and flawless output.

Kind Regards,
