Hi,
Wondering if anyone can help me ?????
I have created a Opus Flex project with imported mpg videos but when I come to publish the videos they are not recognised. I have since learnt that Opus only supports swf or gif files.
I have taken the mpegs into Flash, embedded them and saved them out as swf files.
Still Opus is not accepting them.
Dee

I think the Flash you bring into your Flex pub has to be Flash 5 or lower, but not a 100% sure.

Hi
I have tried your advice but to no avail I'm afraid.
I am now in the process of saving different formats and instead of publishing the swf file I will try exporting it to see if it works.
It is really frustrating me !!!!

Dee,

Opus 6.4 will play a correctly encoded Flash 8 SWF file. Anything higher might appear to load but will probably cause problems when published. If you're still having problems, send me an email and I'll see what I can do.

P.S Use the profile link above to add a signature with basic details and people will take more notice of questions if you post in the Opus section below.

Just thought Id clarify...

The version 8 SWF refers to encoding of the video not the SWF container. Flash 8 video uses the VP6 codec which works fine in Opus.

You should be able to include a VP6 video and publish the SWF up to and including version 10 in your favourite program which can then be imported in Opus.

The publication type can be set to either standalone or Flex and both will display the SWF correctly under Chromakey. Providing decent quality video in Flex based publications. The standard video actions, where available, will also correctly control the SWF video.

Hope this helps,

Mack

Thanks
