This is the only game in town to compete with the Apple iPad in my opinion.
Out of all the manufactures of tablets, only Amazon can match the deals Apple has with copyright holders and App Store and only Amazon have access to huge resources of media content. Amazon already has the users contact and payment details on file and will offer a seamless user experience from their store to the Kindle Fire, and hopefully their app store will now make a break through too.
Another important issue is that Amazon sell direct, cutting out the middleman, just like Apple has done with their own Apple Stores -

It's great news and for DW it's a huge opportunity for Opus, publish to Kindle Store and Android will be huge. We will need multitouch support soon guys.
Multitouch is also making an appearance on interactive whiteboards, so should support that too.
