I feel like Eric Cartman in the Nintendo Wii South Park episode.

Quote:
Eric: C'mon. C'mon! For the love of God, how much longer?!
Mrs. Cartman: There you are Eric, what are you doing here?

Eric: I'm waiting for the new Nintendo Wii to come out.
Mrs. Cartman: When does it come out?

Eric: Three weeks ... c'mon. C'mon!
Mrs. Cartman: It's time for school.

Eric: No mom! You don't understand. I've been waiting for this thing to come out for months, and now every day time is slowing down. It's like ... waiting for Christmas ... times a thousand.
Mrs. Cartman: Eric, you're just going to have to be patient.

Eric: No! Nooooo!

Opus: Opus Pro v9.75

I think that it's unlikely that Opus 7 will be ready for the Christmas market. There is very little time left to get a marketing strategy into operation by feeding advertising channels with anticipatory advertising and capitalise on consumer buying power in a cautious buying market. Sales always lag advertising and it needs time to become visible to consumers. I suspect that we won't see it until next year now. Remember, it was only an aspiration to have Opus 7 to market by Christmas 2009! Oh well, it's back to socks from Santa this year!

Is there any revised release date for Opus 7?

Thanks.

From what I hear of the conditions in the U.K., everything is 'frozen'. I would guess all Release Dates are likewise frozen.

But who knows, maybe a spring thaw coming?

As much as I would like to see the next upgrade, I would be happy with a later release if it meant some extra bug-fixes. And a few real meaty enhancements... one of which I'd really like to see. :)

I agree that the release of the next version of Opus shouldn't take place until all the enhancements are finished. However, it would be nice if DW, having previously suggested a possible pre-Christmas release, could let us know about progress. The silence from the company may even be harming sales as prospective customers put off buying the existing version in anticipation of buying a newer version. It may be better, having suggested a forthcoming release, to give a later date for release and offer a deep discount for anyone buying the current product. Just a thought!
