Digital Workshop

The new version of Xara looks exciting, and it is much cheaper than Xara X1. I've found it great for creating artwork for use in Opus projects.

i notice it says it supports vector transparency.. something that inkscape also does - but its SVG and free.

Will Opus support the transparency ?

Do you use xara to import vectors or do you convert to png?

Opus supports transparency on a vector object as a whole but not on a
polygon by polygon basis. There are no plans to add this feature in the
near future but it will be added to the wish list for possible inclusion in a
latter version.

I've been converting to PNG and exporting from Xara. I never quite got satisfactory results with importing vectors directly into Opus with either Xara or CorelDraw.

I must say in addition that as the drawing tools improve with each major release of Opus I find that I do more and more vector work directly in Opus.
