Hi folks,
I am in the middle of a computer science masters, and I'm wanting to develop a simple piece of software to sell indapendantly to help fund my degree. I have quite alot of experience in developing in macromedia director, and I know that director has the ability to do what I want this software to do.
However, there is just one problem.... Director is hideously overpriced! I want to keep this all above board and own a licenced copy of the authoring tool that i use, and the price tag of £1000 for director mx is just too high. I am therefore searching for alternatives....
The programming behind the application I wish to create isnt difficult at all, but I would just like to know if Illuminatus would support it (i want to make sure that, at this price tag, its more than just a slide-show program!).
So, my questions are:
-- does Illuminatus have a programming language behing it, like the Lingo language of director? Any details on the nature/limitations of this language would be appreciated...
-- does it support creating reading and writing data into simple .txt files, so that certain infrmation can be saved and then brought up next time the software is started?
-- is there a command within the built in language to read the system clock time?
Thats it for now, any help appreciated. Im sorry if these sound like silly questions but I know nothing about this progam, except its so much more affordable than director!!
