Hi, forgive me if I have posted this in the wrong forum. I have been trying to decide which version of Opus to buy but I am still undecided. I will explain my current needs.

At present I want to create standalone multimedia books for my autistic daughter in much the same form as the Living Books range.

Also I home educate my thirteen year old son. We are doing a full syllabus including ICT.

Looking at the product comparison on the website I think I have narrowed the choice down to: Creator Pro; Headstart Pro; Presenter Pro. Although I do find it difficult to visualise the apparently slight differences between the differing versions. In short I am confused.

Does anyone have any guidance, advice?

Sorry for the confusion. Many customers have had the same problem so we are rationalising the product range. In the meantime, the only real distinction you need to know is that if you want to do scripting and talk to databases then you need a Pro version of either Headstart or Presenter.

The Headstart editions are specifically intended for use within the English and Scottish Curriculum and include more educational resources (clipart and examples). Headstart editions don't allow launching of executables. They include the ability to generate ePorfolios but unless you're doing DiDA course this merely duplicates the publication function to some extent.

Presenter has a brainstorm editor which you probably won't need.

Creator doesn't have scripting or database support and doesn't have the educational focus of Headstart. It is still capable of producing engaging material but I would suggest you might find the scripting useful.

In particular I think you will find the Report function to be useful for tracking how your children are using the material you have produced.

I'd probably recommend Headstart Pro purely for the resources. But you can always swap if you decide you've bought the wrong one.
