Hi mac,

My friend I have a question for you - by your post it seems that possibly you also have an interest in controlling mechanical devices using Opus.

Is there a way using another method like script for example, - or do you know any OTHER to get Opus Pro 6.0 to communicate via USB?

I ask this because the system I have does not support the traditional serial joystick - and as you are aware almost everything these days are a USB input device.

Im after the ability to read data from a USB input as well as more simple uses like a trigger on/off state.

ANY help would be of great benefit to me.

I must point out though, Im NOT a DLL person - I am fuzzy on what they are, but as for writing one goes Im lost.

Ive contacted DW on a few occasions via e-mail but have had no reply as yet with respect to this kind of support.

I have been looking for an answer to this for many many months.

Regards...

Rick.

Hi Rick-
I only posted that because a group of others had been talking about dll's and external devices.
I would love to know how to have an Opus pub running on an LCD and responding to a few simple buttons in front of the screen. I never did find out how to do that, so if you work it out....

I saw a video of a man on a big portrait format LCD who asked viewers questions, they hit the buttons (yes or no) and he would respond appropriately. It took the form of a 60's game show. Powerhouse Museum in Sydney. Brilliant.

Mac,
Have you seen this topic?
viewtopic.php?t=3718.
Is this what you are looking for?, a USB device with button pushes mapped to keys.

Sandy

thank you - that's great... so for instance imagine a pressure pad in front of a kiosk which responds to the visitor's presence, etc...
