Hey all this is my first post in this forum so hello to all of you. I'm currently studying year 12 in Australia and my school uses Opus Pro a lot, we use it as a part of our multimedia major project that takes 2 years to make and then it gets marked by professional markers for our final school certificate.

Well I have two problems that I'm unsure of. Firstly I have a video file in my project that I want to launch when clicked on. It all works when its on my computer because it has the right file destination to read the video files but when I try and launch the video file in my project on another computer it doesn't run and I'm assuming its because of the different file destination. So I decided to use the variables, but I don't know how to use them I want to run the publication and for the videos to launch without using the CD, so is there a way to do this? if not then what is the way to make it work by making the project read the files from the CD?

My other question is that I see a feature in Opus about a clock how do you use it? Can you make a digital clock in opus? if so how do you do it because this would really boost up my marks.

Thank you and I hope I hear your kind replies ASAP because this project is due in 9 days.

Thank you once again

Hi,

Once you have completed your program you will need to publish it. You can publish it anywhere you like on your PC. Opus will create the executable program itself and copy the video files to the same folder. You now need to make a distribution CD (this option to do this appears immediately after you have created the executable program). Opus will create a distribution file (and an autostart if you wish) and compress it all into one file, just burn this file and the autostart to a CD-ROM. On installation the executable program and any video files will be copied to the destination PC.

Have a look here for a discussion on digital clocks - this will give you some pointers. Also, just type the word "clock" into the search box for more discussions.

Hope this helps :)
