Yesterday i bought a book called "teach yoursef java 2 in 21 days" to learn how to program in Java.
Can it also help me by learning Opus scripts or is it something completely different?
Are there any books to learn scripting like Opus use.

Hi Ad,

Any Javascript (rather than Java) book is useful in helping you under the Opus language as both are based on ECMA standard BUT I would suggest picking books that explain what JS version the commands are based on as most things post 1.2 will not work.

This isn't to say that you cannot do them in Opus, just that you need to seek an alternative route - for example it is possible to write your own prototypes that mimic common 1.5 functions.

Additionally, remember that the host objects in Opus are items such as text boxes, pages, images etc and not those found in Javascript which deals with browser host objects.
