Hi, thought just occured to me. I created a text editor for my writing needs in Opus, similar to Jdarkroom if anyone's ever used it, but tailored to my needs.
I then wondered whether it would work with Wine under Ubuntu (or indeed any other Linux distro).

Has anyone had any Opus executables running in Wine under Linux?

Be interested in your thoughts. Not sure how video playback would work out or file handling. If no one has already tried it, I will give it a go and report back, might be a sneaky way of easy apps in Linux...?

Regards, Kurt

Hi all,
Well I tried it, and it didn't work. I then checked the WineHQ database, which I guess I should have done first. Someone has already tested an Opus publication last year under Wine without any luck.
I am slowly moving over to Ubuntu so I have some interest here, so I will do some further testing.

Regards, kurt

Hi all, well I've tried some mucking about but still cant get even a simple publication running under Wine. Tried both DirectX and no DirectX. When I tried it under Ubuntu 10.04 Desktop the other day the box came up saying that the app hadnt closed properly, so 'something' happened.

Would be nice to get a publication running under Linux, I will keep trying.

Regards, Kurt
