Well - I was made redundant and went freelance. Not been doing ANY Opus stuff in the last 4 years and I miss it. Been doing PowerPoint and audience response things - and I've just got interested in making my own version of www.yrwall.com and thought that Opus would be my tool of choice for building a painting application... maybe. Is this feasible?! Maybe I should ask someone else to make it as I forgot how to use Opus...

I'll be using a wiimote and infrared pen to make the interactive whiteboard type bit..

I can't speak to that whole application area. Not sure how great of a 'tool' OpusPro is for giving users creativity space at runtime. I would guess AJAX suites or Google apps are more likely the drivers behinds major developments... especially if in a collaborative space.

That said, I am very happy with Opus for development... and I am impressed with its fine graphics capabilities in terms of shapes and shading, resolution, etc.

If you download the latest OpusPro trial, and look at the Sample Publications shipped with it... you will see the rudimentory 'paint and place' coloring examples. There is also now script commands for giving users drawing capability... you decide.

The colour painter is the same as in previous versions of Opus and doesn't really do what I need.

I need to be able to let the user draw on screen - rather than fill in areas already made.

I have seen this done in flash and have even seen a tutorial for the principle but it's all actionscript and not my bag!

Maybe I should just stick to powerpoint!
