I have an idea for a Pub that would allow the User to have both left and right hands active in controlling an animation/action. Windows will of course allow 2 mice to control 1 cursor. But what would be needed is 2 cursors.

I post here in 'Lounge' as this is not an Opus dependent issue.

I researched a liitle.... other folks are pursuing something like this in Unbuntu/Linux and in MacOS.

Has anyone here wanted something like this?
Any ideas what it would take? ( I suspect some simple time-division mulitplexing scheme could effectively create a shared duty-cycle. The only other obstacle would be device identity and drivers/DLLs ).

Just TOL.

ps. uses/opportunities are: gaming, pulling User in (more interaction), and Teacher/Student scenarios.

The reason that CPNMouse is not the best strategy anymore is two-fold: Microsoft supports (to some degree) more than one pointing device using DirectX (I am not sure of the details) and has promised to implement multiple pointing devices in Windows 7 (probably later, because this is a surprisingly big undertaking). Secondly CPNMouse is going about the implementation is a bad way.

Two mouse controles and two cursors would be great for more interactivity.

I didn't try this one yet:
