My version of 7.03 is completely unstable - closes unexpectedly and is unusable. Can I revert to my previous version by simply installing that again, or will I need to uninstall 7.03 and then re-install the earlier version? I am running on XP.
Thanks
Peter

Peter --

Everyone I've talked to says v7.03 is fantastic with NO problems. For this reason, I'm suggesting you take a look at your computer as the problem -- not OPUS. Are your drivers up to date? What about anti-virus software? What other applications are either running, or do a partial start-up when you turn your computer on? Sometimes people think they have nothing running, but in fact there are several programs which partially load at start-up, so they don't take so long to open when you click on them. Microsoft Office is a good example.

Do you know how to check for the programs which load when you start your computer? Check that first.

Hi Demofred,
Thanks for the suggestions. I was not actually thinking the fault lay with Opus itself, I just wanted to go back a step. I have been experimenting with placing video (in all kinds of different formats) and did the 7.03 update in the middle of this. When the crashing suddenly occured I could not establish what exactly had happened; was the video experimental stuff to blame or the upgrade that was the problem - or indeed a combination of the two.

I solved the problem without reverting but am still not sure how it occured. I noticed that double clicking an Opus icon to start the program would not do this and upon tracing the shortcut back, found it had changed to Opus Resource! Re-setting this to launch the normal Opus exe fixed the problem. So I am back uo and runing ok now.

Peter
