Hi,
Thank you for your enquiry.
The iO-plugin used by Opus 2.81 publications was only compatible with Internet Explorer (Netscape support was dropped once AOL Time Warner announced that this browser would no longer be developed), so you will be unable to view 2.81 web publications in Netscape, Opera or Firefox.
Due to the recent growth of alternative browsers, we have implemented support for Netscape/Opera/Firefox browsers in the latest version of the iO-plugin, but you will only be able to view web publications created in the latest versions of Opus (Opus Presenter 04, Opus Pro 04 and Opus Pro XE 04).
The 'Netscape Plugin Finder' used by Netscape and Firefox is currently a 'work-in-progress' and only works reliably with the 'big three' plug-ins (Flash, Shockwave and Acrobat), so it is not possible for an Opus web publication to automatically download and install the iO-plugin when the site is first visited. Your users will therefore have to manually download and install the iO-plugin using our standalone installer, available from:
http://www.digitalworkshop.com/OpusPlug ... _setup.exe
Once the plug-in has been installed, you should be able to view any web publications created in the 04 versions of Opus without problems. If you wish, you can test this with my Beat The Pea publication at the following address:
http://www.digitalworkshop.com/opuspubl ... ThePea.htm
You should find that this site loads and runs without problems in Firefox, Opera and Netscape once the iO-plugin has been manually installed.
I hope this helps. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any further queries.
Kind regards,
