I find myself going in proverbial circles these days -- trying to figure out what tools to author and to multi-publish a rich, non-linear ebook to include stored user input. Of course that was Opus until the onslaught of mobile and cloud.

I am searching and hitting upon NoSQL and graph databases, Neo4j and others. But I think I am finding some resonance with what little I've read about JSON and CouchDB. Anyone have any experience with these? I am somewhat lost reading about it and could use a Primer that is more illustrated -- any links? Do you see any possible synergy in deploying CouchDB or JSON with Opus pubs (future across platforms)? TIA

ETA: couchDB ===> couchbase
