hi,

i have play with this new release during 3 hours. Here is my first impression :

- i appreciate: layer, group, bilinear resampling (ideal for scale and rotate picture in opus rather than in a picture editor), quickbuild sound, button caption text, ruller, scale tool (interesting for me, specially for text, because of the lack of good paragraph managing in opus (leading is hard to use in opus)).

- interesting : new border, texture, record publication, video export

- could be interesting but not as complete as i would like, to correspond to my need: dvd authoring and text animation

I disagree,

This upgrade contains many good features for advance users, and I think it will speed up productivity a great deal. I would like to see a more fully featured features guide, including any small fixes or improvements with 05, as the current guide only includes major new features. I want to know all the small bits and pieces.

Opus is also by far the cheapest and fully featured multimedia development tool available, compare prices:
    Opus Pro XE 05 $750
    Mediator 8 Pro $900
    Macromedia Director MX 2004 $1200
    Macromedia Authorware 7 $3000

hi,

you wrote "Opus is also by far the cheapest and fully featured multimedia development tool available"
I totaly agree, i find that opus (and upgrade) is not expensive at all and give me much more that what i have paid for .

you wrote : "This upgrade contains many good features for advance users, and I think it will speed up productivity a great deal"
i totaly agree (guidelines, rulers, layer, group, quickbuild sound, button caption text, scale tool...) are great help for me .

my post below was just to say that opus05 is a good upgrade but that dvd authoring is not for me because i already use other software for that. And that text animation is not as clean as i would like (for my need wich is live presentation for corporate).
