Hello everybody,

I need to display chinese words in pinyin alphabet.
Those words are in an Access database. Access displays them correctly (accents are respected).
I can't find a way to read them from Access and display them in my Opus publication.

Anyone can help? Thanks in advance.

Best Regards, Winfried.

Sorry--this will be no help, but possibly confirms what you are seeing. I have my PC set up to support Asian language. I can see Chinese characters and pinyin in Word, or a web page, however when I paste into Opus
ā á ǎ à ō ó ǒ ò ē é ě è ī í ǐ ì ū ú ǔ ù ǖ ǘ ǚ ǜ ü Ā Á Ǎ À Ō Ó Ǒ Ò Ē É Ě È
they are wrong, for example...the ā displays as a- in all fonts.
I also installed a Pinyin font, but this still did not display correctly...however... if you open a docview, they do display correctly, but that's not much use to you.
The special characters for ā is "ampersand hash 257 semicolon".
I thought ...variable with code.toString() might work, but it doesn't.

in addition, see viewtopic.php?t=1805&highlight=special+characters. So it's not just pinyin that has a problem.
