I have produced a relatively simple programme - The Virtual Flip Chart - runs dual screen and obviously uses text entry. As it can be used for training, I have been asked if it possible to have remote text entry when the trainer is away from their laptop.

Does anyone know of anything that might do this? I thought a bluetooth link to some sort of speech recognition software might work, but have never been there!

All contributions gratefully received.

Bluetooth headsets w/mic are avail. Range is something to look at. There are some cheap cheap "wireless microphones" on ebay that might also work.

I can confirm Dragon Naturally Speaking 10 works very well. I had it up and running in minutes. They've built-in some voice training set-ups that work... ~10 minutes. DNS10 works its best with MS Office products (for formatting and control etc.)... but I found it works quite well in Opus for 'writing' text sections.

Nuance's Std version is very adequate. $50 (after -50 rebate). I chose 'Preferred' pkg for some features I wanted.

(if you go this route, DNS has 'commands' like "type Tab"... which will execute that keyboard input. Works also for combinations: "Ctrl B", etc. )

Let us know how you get on.
