I make a lot of publications using the option to set more monitors.
This works great, but when i stop the application by clicking on the button with the red cross the application stops... but not complete.
When i hit ctrl+alt+del the panel with the list of running applications still shows the program i just stoped. When i start the application again it adds a new program in the list.
There is a way to stop it, and that is by using the Exit action, but then i have to make a different interface, not the standard titlebar and system menu.

Is the another way to stop the application complete and using the original system menu.

Hi Ad,

Sorry, but I don't understand the problem. I've tried to replicate what I think you're doing but it seems fine. Can you post an example of the problem.

Mack

Hi Mack,

I found the problem. When you open the second screen and then press the close button on the main screen while the second screen is still open, the program won't disapear in the applications panel. When you first close the second screen and then close the application, the program disapears from the application panel.

Any suggestion how to make an application that complete stops, even when the second screen is open?

Hi Ad,

Still not sure but here's what I did that works.

1. create the publication.
2. create a chapter with a blank page that open in a window - the main page
3. create a second chapter with a blank page that opens in a window on the second screen.
4. add a button to the main page that uses the go-to action to open the second page (window)

I now have two windows open, one on each screen and both have close buttons.

If I close the main window, this causes the second window to close and the publication is removed from the Task Manager.

However, if I close the second window, the main remains open and shown in the Task Manager.

This is the behaviour I would expect.

I'm using Opus 7 so may be it doesn't in 6.4?

If this is not what you doing can you send me a basic IMP and I'll try.

Regards,

Mack

Hi Mack,

The problem is that i use the second screen in full screen without any borders or bars.
How can i get Opus 7 to test and work with it?

Kind regards,

Ad

Morning Ad,

Sorry, I missed the example file above. I've run this and it seems to work although W7 doesn't like the 6.4 publication as I had no mouse cursor and the DX troubleshooting box displayed.

However, I ran the file and it displayed the main window on screen one. I clicked the 'open second screen' and this displayed on the second monitor. I then closed the first screen and the application closed completely - no process left in the Task Manager.

I then repeated this using the close button on the second screen and this window closed leaving the main application running on the first screen. I assume that this is only a close window button here and not an exit publication button. In which case it would function as I'd expect.

Mack

P.S You're better of not posting executables as people will be reluctant to run unknown programs and it's difficult to debug without source.
