Can version 6 or 7 be used to create a Karaoke player, i.e. playing cd-g files

CD-G - wow, you learn something new everyday. Never heard of them but I don't image that Opus has some kind of built in facility for this format. However, it depends on how the extra data is encoded with the music as to whether you could create some kind of custom extraction. I did wiki it but that was next to useless.

Similar things like this are possible though, I added a project for a client so that I could play lrc files to have lyrics displayed with either a video of music file - so there might be hope.

An interesting project.

Mack, I found this site... maybe you can make Heads & Tails of it for Evan from the links there. It's beyond me (I still have some vinyl and TT).
http://web.ncf.ca/aa571/cdgfaq.htm
links for example: http://www.jbum.com/cdg_revealed.html
and the Philips site

I would take a wild guess and say Opus pub would be good for control of 'jukebox' portion... but the PC would have to have the right DVD drive and windows drivers. Maybe CD+G graphics could be 'seen' through a transparent Opus page. But where/how would one get the Lyrics and timing cues for karaoke... change speed/pitch?
