Hi,

I've been playing around SCORM publications in Opus trying to see how hard or how easy it is to make some of our company's existing software SCORM compliant. The problem is, our software saves a lot of data (and recalls it) using variables saved to .txt files. I cannot find any option to do this when making a SCORM publication in Opus. Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

Cheers,
Jamie

Jamie,

SCORM has developed significantly in more recent versions of Opus. Go into the profile link and add some information such as your Opus version.

SCORM has to work in a browser, which means either Plexus or Flash. And neither are able to save text files to the user's hard disk.

I think you need to rethink why you need to save things in text files.

Hi,

Depending on how much data needs to be saved, I wonder if you could make use of the shared object (SO) scripting feature in a Flex SCORM (v7) publication?

You can find out more about SO's by searching on this forum, as well as an online search of the term "shared object" coupled with Flash.

HTH

Kind Regards,
