Hi

The reason for this due to my fathers failing sight but with accessibility options he is still ok. Have played with Narrator but not happy with set up

I want the launch web page action to load a page into Edge as it provides the ability to read aloud the page content.

I am not a programmer but have Pro 9.75 which allows script

Is it possible to use script to bring up Edge instead?
Can anyone provide the script if possible?
Can I then include the script in the actions and return to inbuilt actions to finish the link.
The whole purpose is for him to have the Guardian newspaper on line and read out loud

Thanks in advance for advice

You don't need script.

Just use the launch file action with msedge.exe as the "Launch this file" and the URL as the "option/parameter".

Mack,
You're always providing answers to questions I haven't even asked yet. Opened up an old project and was like, oh I need to launch edge instead of default IE6-ish.

I'm guessing the embedded browser I think called WebView is still limited. I remember this same issue back with Winforms application about 8 years ago before moving to Chromium for that particular application. Anyway I doubt there is any scope for Opus releasing an update to support WebView2 in Windows... I guess I could build a WebView2 application and launch with URL to make look embedded to hide URL field from user.

If you are using Opus to open the web page, you might be interested in looking at TextAloud, from NextUp technologies
https://nextup.com/ to create other useful Opus applications. It works very well with Opus, using the 'copy variable to clipboard' action. With TextAloud running in the background, it will then speak the variable. You can also use the 'Mouse Over' trigger to initiate the copy variable to clipboard action. As the user moves the mouse pointer, opus will announce which object the mouse is over. This only works within the Opus application That's just a couple of simple examples. Many years ago, I created a talking bar code scanner for visually impaired people using Opus. It worked very well.

Glad it's still helping.
