Hello,

Is it possible to change the initial value of a variable already defined? If yes, how?

Thanks in advance.

Not sure I completely understand your question, but I'll give you a couple of possible answers:

First, if you mean you want to permanently change the initial value of a Variable in the OPUS editor, go to Edit - Publication - Variables, and at the end of the long list you'll see the variables you've added. Highlight the one you want changed and click Edit, then go in and change the numeric or text value. Press OK and this then will be the new permanent initial value for this Variable.

If you want to change the value of a Variable while running a Published project, pick an opening Page and create a Trigger of On Show, then go into Actions - Variables, and select "Set". You can then set any variable to a new value. If you set your Variable to be a Publication Variable, then it will have the new value anywhere in the Publication. If it's a Page Variable, then it will only have this new value as long as you are on this Page. If you leave the Page and then return, your "On Show" will have to reset the value.

Please let us know if this answers your question. Please add your version of OPUS and info on your computer hardware to your Signature in your Profile. That helps us help you!
