Thanks Demofred!!
Panic over---the autosaved bakup was actually the correct version. I had done so many changes--I thought it was an old version. I normally don't worry about crashes, because of the auto backup and I also do a file backup to Zip at regular times, however I have never experienced "NoRTTI Data" problem before. I
I am creating a talking barcode scanner and use the copy to clipboard facility and TextAloud. I've been having lots of minor crashes. Many more than I ever remember with Version 04.

Years ago I used to teach classes in computing. A frequent question was "How often should I back up?" My answer, which I believe is still appropriate was: "What is your tolerance for re-typing lost information?"

Like most users of computers, I have suffered crashes that have lost data, or worse still, corrupted files.

The zip backup in Opus is so easy to do, and even with large pubs takes little time (relative to re-making a complete pub) that I now follow this routine:

Everytime I add something creative or complex, I backup regardless of when the last backup occurred. If my development work is straight-forward, I backup about every 10 minutes.

Many times I have been thankful for this routine because it has saved me a lot of effort.

HTH

I work a lot with 2 monitors and get the "Exception Unknown" message when the PC goes into sleep mode. I can still save the open publication(s) and continue to work but cannot close the error dialogue box. :?
