I'm making some teaching material and want to incorporate a slider allowing teachers to control an animation, shuttling back and forwards to show different parts, in much the same way as the controller for Quicktime works. I've thought about doing this with a drag and drop vector graphic inside a frame, running over hotspots. This works but is messy, for two reasons
The vector graphic acting as the slider moves up and down as well as left and right, so depending on where it's dragged it may move outside of its tracks.
And it's possible to show bits of the animation by mousing over the tracks, without the slider itself being over the hotspot.
My questions...
Is it possible to restrain the slider so it moves left/right or up and down only? i.e. get it to only run between the tracks
Is it possible to arrange it so that the animation only appears when the slider AND the cursor are over the same spot?
I guess the real question is can anyone think of a better way of doing this?!
Thanks
Peter
