This is part 2 of a printing question. At Runtime, how to make it simple for the User.

How can a User printout his work from a chapter all at once, rather than 2 or 3 clicks per each Opus Page?

User makes selections. Choices determine what information is presented. At the end of a Chapter, user should print Chapter Summary of...
* 8 or so Opus Pages (display screens), a few that show choices User made.
* RTFs (viewed using Docview, some scroll off-page)
* A Text Block of User input . (may not show all on display area)
* also a block of instructions (in Pub, is popup as needed. Show/Hide on screen... am flexible on this item)

I searched the forum, but do not see a solution.

Opus pubs will be standalone, but could be on web/server (does that help or hinder solution?)

Opus Presenter Pro.

Have a special "Printing" chapter which contains pages specifically designed fro printing out. These could be much larger than the normal screen pages and in portrait format.

On one of these pages have the user input (set via publication variables so they are available to all pages) and your instructions displayed.

Your Print button on the "real" page could then have multiple print actions. One to print that special page and more to print the RTF files (you can print RTFs directly using the File option on the print action.)

If you are always printing all the files, I would be tempted to create a single file for printing, rather than multiple, just to save adding the extra actions!

Duncan,

Thanks. That is a very good explanation. Sounds simpler than I thought...

But, on the last point

From the User's point of view, the Pub will be like an ala carte menu. Each user will see and print a different "mix" of content.

So I think I will have to figure out a look-up routine to set file names into variables, and then the Print actions you suggest... to print using those Vars.

Maybe there is an alternative approach to populating the content, not from files but from MySQL DB (and I presume concatenating those streams into TextBoxes or to one file). But I think I lose Rich Text capability then. (?)

At least there IS a workable solution.
Ease and manageability I'll have to figure out.

Thanks.
