Hi

I have a web based pub on my site that will only play if the viewer first downloads and installs the Plexus Plugin from DW. Getting people to install a player is "iffy," and some will not be willing.

While setting the pub up in Flex and thereby using the Flash player already installed widely would solve this issue, I'm afraid it can't be done: the pub depends on storing/reading a lot of data in variables (for example, positions of dragged and dropped objects).

Is there any way to place the Plexus Plugin on my site's server and store/read variable data on the web site, so that the end-user doesn't need to install a player? This doesn't seem possible, but, perhaps, someone will have a work-a-round or solution.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

This is not possible - the player has to run on the users local PC. The only alternative would be to publish as a standalone executable and get the users to download and run that.

I agree to that. I had the same problems with some of my customers. This issue is even worse if the users do not speak english so that they cannot understand what's going on.

I would appreciate if more things could be done with flex so that only the flash plugin is needed on the users machines.
