I have started using external scripts on two publications. When I go to edit the external script, after typing one or two characters the insertion point suddenly jumps to the end of the script and inserts there?? if I set as an internal script, everything is OK. It makes the external script unusable.
Any ideas??

Sandyn, probably unrelated but easy to check.

When I use Page Notes and am typing in some devlp. ideas or such... the Cursor jumps to the beginning of the notes area. I suspect it is Opus doing its Autosave or backup. You could test your situation by disabling that temporarily and see if helps.

Thanks for the suggestion--it was worth a try, but didn't make any difference.
I can manage without external scripts. I'll just remember to copy and paste.

Further to this problem. I am seeing a slightly irritating problem which I think is linked. I have my publication with a script (internal) if I open the script, then open another object to look at properties/actions, the property window freezes. I can't move it, or close it--I have then to click on another object---open it and then go back to the original-----which will then freeze after a time.

I opened the same publication in V5.5 and there's no problems. I can open close scripts/objects and it works as expected.

I will re-install V6 later to see if this helps

Any ideas???

Sandyn,

I experience this problem when I first installed Opus 6. DW support suggested updating the drivers for my ATI All-in-wonder 9600 card which I did. The the Properties-Action dialog window and options worked at it should. However, when I used the right-click menu the menu "faded in," taking about 5 seconds. I closed Opus 6 and right-clicked on the Desktop and that menu "faded-in" also instead on just appearing. I checked that the updated video card driver was installed as stated which it was, however, the refresh rate was set at 60 Hertz. I increased the refresh rate to 75 Hertz and now the menus in Opus 6 work as designed.

Thanks very much Leo,
I have just tried Opus 6 on another maching and it worked fine. I have an 'old' laptop and I doubt I'll be able to find updated drivers, but I'll go look.

Sandy

I reinstalled V6 and the problem remains, then I reset the registry (CTRL+ALT on start up) and it's fixed!!!!!Woooooooooooooooo!!!
I should have done that at the start, but forgot about it!
