I have been looking for ways to "tag" some text files, or Word docs, thinking that might help organize and structure content for a Pub.

get access to the Document Properties of a Word file without opening the document. Microsoft makes an ActiveX DLL available called dsofile.dll, which allows you to read & write the document properties of an Office file without opening the file in a document editing window.

Not sure I'd use it for myself yet. Maybe future.
