Hi, I must be tired since I can't find a solution for my dilemma so I hope you can help me. The situation is this:

I have created a "launching application" in Opus to launch a series of databases. This Opus pub works as a repository of databases. Each database is linked to a particular button so when the customer click on the button, the database is launched.

The databases are located, let say in a drive with the letter D and inside a folder called "databases".

The Opus Pub is located in the same drive but in a folder called "Systems".
What I have done is the following:

1-Create a number of buttons corresponding to the databases.
2-Give an action to launch to each of the buttons.

I having problems with the details for the action :
1-Lauch this file : no problem here
2-with option/parameter
3-The file will be found at this location: Here is the problem since it is a network environment and in some computers the letter of the drive change from "D" to "I" to "F", etc. so if I produce a direct path to the database will only work on those computers with the same letter drive and not on the ones with different letter drive.
I have been using the insert variables without any luck.

Can you please help me? I don't know what I am doing wrong here. I believe that it is going to end up being an easy solution but at the moment I am too frustrated to think "outside the box".

Thank you for your enquiry.

The Launch File action supports UNC addressing, so instead of using a static drive letter in the path (such as G:\Resources\Databases), you can define the path from the server downwards. For example, to access the file test.txt in the directory examples on a server named master, you would use the file name 'test.txt' in the 'Launch this file' field and the following in the 'File will be found at this location' field:

\\master\examples

You will therefore need to determine the name used by your client's server and what subfolders Opus will need to look through to find the target file. The publication should now work on all machines which can access this server, regardless of their drive mappings.
