This happened to me a couple of years ago, and it's been so long I can't remember how it was solved. I updated a program and it runs fine with no problem, but every time I run it I get a window that pops open. The window title is Troubleshooting. Below that is this verbage...

"This program appears to have crashed last time it was run. Etc. I have options to disable directX Graphics, DirectX Sound Etc.

The first time I ran the program there was a problem and this window poped up. I then went into the program and fixed the problem and now it is without errors, but the Troubleshooting window pops open everytime the program is run. After I close the Troubleshooting window there are no problem, but who wants to close a "TroubleShooting "window everytime you run a program.

I think you might have to reset the Opus registry.
Click the shortcut/icon for OPUS, then immediately hold down your ALT and CLT keys until you see a window which asks if you want to RESET the OPUS Registry.

Sandyn,

Thank you for the advice however, when I do as you have suggested a small window pops up very shortly. I had to do it several times to realize that it is the window you are referring to, but I don't have time to click on a button before the window goes away, and the program shuts down.

Do you know of a way to do this using a command line window?

I don't know if there is a command line option to reset the registry.

I'm sure you have tried hitting the 'Y' key repeatedly after doing a reset in the hope you might hit it lucky?

I just had a look at the windows registry (XP) under 'Digital Workshop-Opus Professional 6' and all the stored values seem to be in there,(especially under workspace) so my guess is that when you reset the Opus registry, it resets all or some of the entries in the windows registry.
I also looked in the Opus program directory for .INI files, there are lots of them, but none which seems to be the right name for a general purpose INI.

If it was me and this problem was driving me crazy, I would uninstall/reinstall Opus 6. If that still didn't work, I would uninstall, delete the registry entry ....use a registry cleaner...and empty the Opus program file directory, then re-install.....for a clean install.

Sandy

Next time the Trouble window appears, look at the bottom of the information. I'm sure there's an option to "Don't Show This Again." Tick the box and it won't appear again.

I've occasionally had this happen when I use the Esc key to exit a Pub instead of using a Button Object with an Exit Action.

Thanks DemoFred,

I probably should have mentioned that I have been doing that, but the window comes back anyway. So far nothing I have tried has stopped it from happening. I've even re-published the program, even though after publishing it says that there were no Errors nor Warnings, but the TroubleShooting window STILL pops up even though I've ticked the box for it NOT to show again.
