I have found that opus has a few issues with the cursor and would like to know if anyone else is having the same problems?

The main bug I have found is when using panels in the layout. When the mouse passes from one to another it goes under the edge and then shows again. If you use more than one panel then things become very messy for the mouse and users often complain - I have stopped using panels because of this.

There is also a problem around the edge of all publications - the mouse again hides itself (normally right and bottom sides)

Another one is if you move a window from one monitor to another the mouse often hides (over the publication) until you right-click on the status bar. (This has happened on a few pc's)

In my case I am using an Opus Pro interface as a front end for the delivery of my software product. All buttons work correctly for accessing other pages within the publication, going on line to obtain the latest Adobe Acrobat Reader, registering the product online at my web server etc.

However, upon clicking the button that actually launches the software installation - it is set to run the Advanced Installer program and to close the Opus publication the moment this runs, a user cannot click the Windows Security alert button to confirm installation, because the mouse appears to be on a "layer" between the Opus interface and the Windows window.

I have tried setting the Opus pub to not close upon running the Advanced Installer exe, but the problem still persists.

Any ideas?
Peter

Hi Peter,

That's most odd. We've created loads of front-ends that launch products that have been packaged with AI and never seen this problem.

Have you created a panel or multi window interface and some part is not being closed properly?

Mack

Hi Mack,

Thanks for the swift response. I seems it was a Vista thing. My main workstation runs Win XP and I was checking the latest Tele-Prompt software installation interface on my Vista laptop before distribution.

However, after I loaded Opus Pro onto my laptop and transferred the project over to this machine and published again, the problem has disappeared. It now works correctly too in that the Opus interface closes once the Advanced Installer boots up.

DW did advise installing a completely new installation from scratch if using Vista, so maybe that was the issue??

Thanks
Peter
